Inwood House (cqc.org.uk)

Response to requires improvement rating - Historically, Inwood House has achieved positive feedback and good inspection reports but sadly, at an inspection carried out 28th October 2021 there were some areas highlighted for improvement, particularly around our documentation and adherence to current infection control guidelines. We pride ourselves on giving an excellent standard of care and have taken immediate and decisive action to rectify those areas which needed improvement. We have been working tirelessly since the inspection and have introduced several new improvements.

We are delighted that the good level of care was acknowledged and that our staffing levels were good. Staff told the inspector that they felt supported by Sue, the manager and Alan and Diana Butchers, the provider and relatives told them that they felt staff had a 'caring and kind' approach.

The inspector visited us again, 6th January 2022 to conduct a targeted inspection of those areas in the key question of 'safe'. The report from that inspection is available by clicking the link above. All feedback was positive and here's why:

  • All staff wear appropriate PPE at all times, we now carry out spot inspections to check this.

  • All staff undergo testing as per the government guidance (weekly PCR and 3 weekly LFDs) Staff now email their results to us so we have an accurate record of these results.

  • Food and fluid forms have been reviewed and one new form has replaced two previous forms. This means that all monitoring information is in one place. Staff have received training on how to use the new form and a template example is available in the office for staff to refer to.

  • Sue the manager regular audits the food and fluid forms and has taken action where there were any gaps in the records

  • Environmental Health visited last November and rated the kitchen '5', the highest ranking possible.

We look forward to being re-inspected soon to gain a rating which reflects these raised standards and improvements that we have implemented.
